Today I went fishing for a good translation. Having no particular place or language in mmind, but wanting to go far beyond the usual suspects, I put "Samarkand" and "tourist" into Google and stopped at the first result that appeared to originate in that region. It's the delightful homepage of Sairam Tourism, an apparently well-established and obviously well-polished tourism agency with a main office in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Sticking to the translation aspects, the English is nearly flawless in spelling, word choice, and form. There are obvious influences from Russian, evidenced by missing and misplaced definite and indefinite articles, but that much can be considered "local flavor". At times the sentence structure leans a bit too heavily on Slavic, but not at the sacrifice of intelligibility.
The site has a number of links that don't link to anything, including, unfortunately, the photo gallery, but makes up for that in the great number of informative subordinate pages it offers in Russian and English.
