Ack! Ugh! I just visited Feliz-Navidad.net and wish I hadn't. It is a Spanish-language portal for 123greetings.com. Some things just shouldn't be translated! Digging down through the selections, which I felt I had to do, for research purposes, you can find (among the many garish cards in English) a number of e-greeting cards in Spanish--poorly written and often poorly translated--reflecting a message so culturally NOT Hispanic in tone or color or sentiment that the effect is rather offensive. But that's just my opinion.
Can someone lead me to a site with e-cards that is sensitive to hispanic art, history, culture, etc.? I went to the Hallmark site, hoping to expunge the sour taste of the Feliz-Navidad site from my memory. It offered little immediate relief but came through in the end. The home page doesn't offer a Spanish-language option. Further in, after selecting "Holidays" and then "Cinco de Mayo", I must admit I did find the kind of card I hoped for--artistic, culturally and linguistically correct. Then I back-tracked to "Mother's Day" and found some nice cards in Spanish that were prepared with concern to the sights and sounds and sentiments of a Latin American remembrance. Way to go, Hallmark!
