More Bad Translations

Disclaimer: We just print what we find.  Any criticism is of translation quality, and not site content.

Again we go to an Italian site, this time for gift baskets with fine Italian wines.  Its English version is pretty good overall, but the opening paragraph suggests:

"Prepared compositions with bottles of good wine and food for all the tastes, of good quality, you exclusively manufacture with products typical of the Italian culinary tradition, that they will know how to bewitch and to surprise You, his customers and the friends."

Here's another.  The Italian crystal artisans at Vilca, makers of fine crystal creations, are open to design ideas from aspiring designers.  Under a tab labeled "Become Designer", (and next to a tab labeled "How Partecipate at") they explain:

"We will let you know our view and will give you advises on how to improve your project.
In case that our opinion were positive, your project would be screened by glass-makers, who would value the degree of its realizability."

Of course what they mean is that the glassmakers would "assess the possibility of producing" the design.  Such a fine company should get a native speaker of English to do its translations.  Any company should, but an international dealer should certainly know of the negative effect of bad translation on the company's image.
